the sun. It sued the duet between Pt. Ravi Shankar
and Mr. Yahudi Menhuin as its musical base. In this
item the Chhau movements have been modified by the
Kathak sensibilities of the dancers. |

Maharas is based on the very old Kavita which
describes Lord Krishna’s “Raas Lila”. This was
danced at the time of Sharad Purnima. The melody is
composed in Rag- Megh, Sarang, Bageshwari and Abhogi,
set in Kaharava, Ek Taal, Dharmar and Teel Tal. |
