Activities
Regular Kathak training Course:
Padatik Dance Centre holds
regular Kathak training classes. It holds Nalanda Kathak Dance
Certificate course of 7-year (4 years Prarambhika and 3 years
Kovida ) Separate certificates are issued separately after
Prarambhika and Kovida. There is also pass course of 5 years
for the students who are not in a position to undergo 7 years
Nalanda Certificate course. Preparatory classes of 2 years are
held for the beginners (children) to prepare them for the
Nalanda Dance course. All above classes are held in
comfortable Air-conditioned space.
Kathak
training at Salt lake branch:
Padatik Dance Centre has opened
a branch in Salt Lake where Kathak lessons are given to both
junior and senior groups under expert teacher.
Vocal and Tala classes
Vocal and Tala classes are
conducted for the students of Nalanda Kathak Dance Certificate
course where Thumri Bhajans relevant for Kathak are taught.
Body Training Class:
Deb Kumar Pal. conducts body
Training-Aero movements.

Workshops
Every year (May/June) Padatik Dance Centre
organizes Kathak workshop by Pt. Birju Maharajji. From time to
time it also conducted workshop by other gurus from
outstation and other countries as well. It has conducted
workshop by Sara Pearso(USA) , Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan
(Madras) , Dietmar Seyffert (Germany), Pt. Chites Das (USA),
Rammohan Maharaj(New
Delhi),
Shri Rajendra Gangani (New Delhi), Smt. Kanak Rele(Mumbai) and
others.
Padatik Dance Centre and solo
presentation:
Padatik Dance Centre runs a
Kathak repertory consisting of talented dancers/ senior
students. Those who have passed Kovida may be taken in the
repertory.
The repertory gives shows at
different major festivals in India and abroad apart from
presenting groups and solos in Kokata. Padatik Dance Centre
repertory is empanelled by the Indian Coucil for Cultural
Relations.
Annual Shows:
To show of our children we
present all of our students to gain stage experience.
Saturday series:
Padatik Dance Centre organizes
evening dance programmes on every Saturday by its talented
repertory members.
Shows elsewhere:
Its gives dance shows in other
cities as invited from time to time.
